The seal (1) has a sealing section (2) made of elastomeric material and sealingly applied over a counter sliding surface, when the sealing section is under elastic prestressing. The sealing surface has a diamond-like-carbon friction reducing coating (4) and a macroscopic structure (5) for enhancing the sealing function of the sealing structure. The macroscopic structure has a conveyor geometry (6) comprising an angled structure. The counter sliding surface is formed as a to be sealed machine element (3) or a cylinder sleeve of a cartridge seal. The conveyor geometry is formed as conveying threads. The friction reducing coating is formed as hard material. The friction reducing coating is formed as a lubrication coating or a polymeric layer. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement comprising a seal. |
