<p>PURPOSE: A solid image taking apparatus, an electronic appliance, and a method for manufacturing the apparatus are provided to prevent the efficiency of signal charge transmission from being reduced by self-aligning a reading drain using a transmission gate electrode as a mask. CONSTITUTION: A solid image taking apparatus receives light received through an optical system(202). The solid image taking apparatus is driven by a controlling signal outputted from a driving circuit(203). The optical system is arranged to collect light to the signal reading surface(PS) of the solid image taking apparatus.
