Provided is the use of an antibody that binds to a protein having at least 80% amino acid sequence identity to; (a) the polypeptide having a specified amino acid sequence, (b) the polypeptide of a) lacking its associated signal peptide; (c) a polypeptide encoded by the corresponding nucleotide sequence or (d) a polypeptide encoded by the full-length coding region of the nucleotide sequence for the preparation of a medicament for inhibiting the growth of a cell that expresses said protein, wherein the antibody for the polypeptide is produced by a hybridoma 7G7.7.8 (ATCC Accession Number PTA-6336). The antibody may be conjugated to a cytotoxic agent for treating cancer.
