<p>Psychotropic agents, partic. antidepressents, contain as active ingredients cpds. (I) 1,10-trimethylene-8-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrazino- 1,2-a -ind- ole. HCl salt of (I) can be prepd. by alkylation in presence of base of 1-keto-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6-methyl-carbazole (II) which chloroacetonitrile to form 1-keto-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6-methyl-9-cyanomethylcarbazole (III) which upon reductive cyclisation by hydrogenation yields (I).</p> |
