<p>The present invention refers to a support or backing pad (1) for abrasive elements in sheet form for tools or machine tools, comprising: - a first disc-shaped body (2) that has a rear surface (3) for attachment to a tool or machine tool and that is crossed in its thickness by at least one port (5) intended, when in use, to be connected to a suction device and - a second disc-shaped body (4) that is associated with the front surface of the first disc -shaped body (2) and that has a substantially flat front surface (6) on which to rest an abrasive element in sheet form and it is crossed in its thickness by a plurality of suction openings (7) that communicate with the ports (5), in which - the suction openings (7) are densely distributed substantially over the entire area of the front surface (6) or over at least one portion of it and the face of the front surface (6) that, when in use, faces towards the abrasive element in sheet form has, at the portions without the suction openings (7), a channelling (8) open towards the outside of the second disc -shaped body (4) and in communication with the suction openings (7), in which the number of said suction openings (7) per unit of active surface is greater than or equal to 1, 2 openings per cm2 and in which said suction openings (7) have a diameter that can vary from between 2 mm and 6 mm and the distance between the perimeter of two adjacent suction openings (7) is less than or equal to 5 mm.</p> |
