<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing zinc oxide varistor. <P>SOLUTION: Doped zinc oxide and sintering material of high impedance are mixed together at a predetermined ratio. Then, doping of zinc oxide and sintering of zinc oxide particles with high impedance sintering material are performed by two independent procedures so that zinc oxide varistor is produced with conventional technology using the mixture by sintering at a low temperature (less than 900°C). The resulting zinc oxide varistor can use pure silver as an internal electrode. It has at least one of varistor characteristics, thermistor characteristics, capacitor characteristics, inductor characteristics, piezoelectric properties, and magnetic properties. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
