<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder preventing paper from being conveyed in a state of being tilted in a conveyance direction, and easily mounting the paper on a mounting surface; an image forming apparatus; and an image reading apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The paper feeder includes the mounting surface 32a; a stationary guide for guiding conveyance of the paper by contacting with one side end of the paper; a movable guide 3 for adjusting the distance to the stationary guide, and guiding the conveyance of the paper by contacting with the other side end of the paper; a feed roller rotatingly driven by contacting with the paper surface at a position between the stationary guide and the movable guide 3 which is closer to the stationary guide; a contact roller 6 disposed in the movable guide 3 and contacting with the paper surface; and a torsion coil spring 5 for biasing the contact roller 6 toward the mounting surface 32a. The contact roller 6 includes a projected spherical surface 63a opposed to the stationary guide in a width direction H.
