<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus for generating proper restoration information based on a function to be executed in common by a device storing the restoration information in an external storage device and a device started from hibernation by using the restoration information, and to provide a control method for the information processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When the other information processing apparatus is started from hibernation, the information processing apparatus generates restoration information for reading out the other information processing apparatus to a RAM to enable the functions of the other information processing apparatus, and stores the generated restoration information in an external storage device. Concretely, a common function which is a function executable by the information processing apparatus and the other information processing apparatus is specified, the restoration information is generated by using operation state information of the RAM corresponding to the common function, and the generated restoration information is stored in the external storage device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
