PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a textured surface and an oxidized layer coating for a substrate material, and a prosthesis for the textured surface and the oxidized coating. SOLUTION: This textured surface and the oxidized layer coating on a metal material is attained by a chemical and/or electrochemical surface etching, and an in-situ surface oxidation method, of modifying a texture of the surface. The surface is useful for manufacturing the prosthesis, in particular, for manufacturing a medical implant, since the surface has corrosion and abrasion resistance imparted by the oxidized layer, and ability for enhancing implantation of the implant onto a bone imparted by a surface texture.
