<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece that has small power consumption and receives satellite signals rapidly. <P>SOLUTION: A watch having a GPS is provided with: a GPS reception section 10 for capturing satellite signals from a GPS satellite, receiving the captured satellite signals, and acquiring information, based on the received satellite signals; a watch control section 20 for displaying and controlling the acquired information; an amount-of-power-generation detection circuit 36 and a casing vibration detection section 22 for detecting reception environments of the satellite signals; an initial threshold setting means 151 of setting an initial value of a signal reception threshold in signal strength of satellite signals captured by a baseband signal 13 according to the detected reception environments; and a threshold varying means 152 of decreasing a signal reception threshold according to a correlation count.
