PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoch-making electronic component capable of preventing the deterioration of electric insulation of electronic component elements owing to the fact that burrs generated in an electrode foil damage an isolation paper, and a method of manufacturing the electronic component. SOLUTION: This invention is characterized by a configuration which supplies protection paper 6 from a right angle direction to a feeding direction of isolation paper 5 or an electrode foil 4 just before reeling a pasting required part of the protection paper 6 and sticks the protection paper 6 on the isolation paper 5 at a position corresponding to a burr 4a produced in the board thickness direction or the width direction of the electrode foil 4 and in such a range as to cover a reeling direction lengthwise side of the burr 4a.
