<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance type input device for improving noise resistance, and for highly precisely detecting the touch position of the fingertip or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A first touch pad 1 is configured of first to fifth sub-touch pads 1a to 1e. The central first sub-touch pad 1a is formed like a diamond, and the second and fourth sub-touch pads 1b and 1d are respectively formed like a triangle after the half of the diamond is cut, and the third and fifth sub-touch pads 1c and 1e are respectively formed like a triangle with a cut part. A common potential line 6 is arranged so that the first to fifth sub-touch pads 1a to 1e can be surrounded, and an AC common potential VCOM from an AC power source 7 is applied.
