The drive (1) has a threaded spindle (2) with a threaded groove comprising gears, which are separated by a screw-shaped circumferential threaded shoulder (5). A threaded nut (6) runs on the threaded spindle by a spindle nut with the threaded groove and balls (8) that run in the threaded groove. A sensor element (18) is provided at the threaded nut and measures distance to the threaded shoulder. Markings (20) indicate an absolute position of the threaded nut in a coded manner and are read by the sensor element, where the markings are locally distributed at the shoulder.
