The method involves supplying signals from the sensors (4) arranged in the ship hull to a loading computer (6) that is provided for controlling the loading and unloading of a ship (1). The loading computer displays an actual mechanical deformation condition of the ship hull. The loading computer with help of the current loading condition of the ship and a mechanical model of the ship hull estimates a theoretical deformation condition of the ship hull with predetermined steps of loading and unloading process.
