<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To largely simplify the implementation of a de-interlaced structure for obtaining a non-interlaced image frame by de-interlacing an interlaced image field. <P>SOLUTION: A blank line of each image field is removed (110) and one half of the pixels of remaining lines of each image field is removed (120) to obtain an image frame having a half of the lines (that is, about a half vertical resolution) and a half of the pixels (that is, about a half horizontal resolution). The removal of blank lines may include steps for interpolating a pixel value of a line at the position of the blank line from pixel values of adjacent lines, retaining the interpolated line, and removing the adjacent lines, thereby substantially reducing a vertical jitter caused by a one-half line positional difference between adjacent image fields. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
