<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device which is compact, suppresses power consumption of an imaging apparatus to a minimum, and adds positional information to image data, immediately after the imaging apparatus is started, and a power supply device for supplying power to the positioning device. <P>SOLUTION: A GPS device 1 can be connected to a digital camera 10 and includes a positioning part for performing positioning by the supply of power from the digital camera 10, and an SRAM/RTC 4 for storing positioning information by the positioning part. In a state where the digital camera 10 is connected to the GPS device 1, the power supply from the digital camera 10 is started, and positioning and storage of the positioning information are carried out repeatedly. In a state where the digital camera 10 is not connected thereto, new positioning is stopped, and the positioning information obtained by the last positioning is stored in the SRAM/RTC 4.
