PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for optical fiber having a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The connector for optical fiber, in place of a conventional one, includes a guide member, a chuck member and a cover member. The guide member has a guidance hole which is an opened through-hole, provided on an end surface of one end portion of the guide member to guide the optical fiber. The chuck member is a longitudinal member connected to the guidance member and has: a receiving space that is provided along a longitudinal direction of the chuck member and that receives the optical fiber cable; and an expanded part for engagement which is expanded and has a large outside dimensions on an end of the chuck member. The cover member is the cylindrical member to be guided to the guide member in a relatively displacing manner and is provided with a cavity portion for engagement on an end surface of the other end portion of the cover member, wherein the cavity portion is engaged with the expanded part.
