PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach a decorative laminated sheet to the outer surface of an escutcheon constituting a seat plate for mounting a handle, without damaging an engaging portion or a portion to be engaged, provided at the end of the decorative laminated sheet; or to easily detach the decorative laminated sheet from the escutcheon. SOLUTION: This seat plate for mounting the handle includes the long base-like escutcheon which has a first portion to be engaged on one side in a recess formed on the outer surface of a base and which has a second portion to be engaged on the other side, and the long plate-like decorative laminated sheet which is connected to the recess via each of the first and second engaging portions engaged with/disengaged from the first and second portions to be engaged, respectively, and which has an elastic displacement function and an elastic return one. A through-hole for connecting the decorative laminated sheet, into which the leading end of an implement for a supporting point can be inserted in a penetrating state, is formed at the center of the escutcheon.
