PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently discharge highly viscous liquid and stabilize the discharge. SOLUTION: A liquid discharging device includes: a nozzle, a pressure chamber for applying a pressure change to the liquid in order to discharge the liquid, a liquid supply part for supplying the liquid to the pressure chamber, an element for imparting the pressure change to the liquid in the pressure chamber, and a discharge pulse generating part for generating a discharge pulse which operates the element to discharge the liquid. The viscosity of the liquid is 8 mPa s or more. The nozzle includes a first part wherein the discharge side of the liquid is determined to have a smaller open area than that of the pressure chamber side and a second part communicated with the discharge end side of the first part. The open area of the second part is 1/9 or less of the area of the opening of the pressure chamber side of the liquid supply part. The discharge pulse includes a pressure reducing part and a pressure increasing part. The pressure reducing part reduces the pressure of the liquid in order to pull the meniscus positioned at the second part to the first part. The pressure increasing part pressurizes the liquid in order to discharge the liquid before the meniscus pulled to the first part returns to the second part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
