PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container which is suitable for flat battery transportation such as a lithium ion battery. SOLUTION: The container 1 for battery transportation has a body 10A, and a lid 10B. The body 10A has a recess 11 for storing a part (a lower part) of the plate-shaped battery C, and a body buffering material 90A wherein a groove inserted with a lower end of the battery C is formed is arranged in the recess 11. The lid 10B has the recess 11 for storing a remained section (an upper part) of the battery, and a lid buffering material 90B wherein a groove inserted with an upper end of the battery is formed is arranged in the recess 11. The body and the lid can be produced by the same molding die if the body 10A and the lid 10B are the same shape, and manufacturing cost of the container can be reduced.
