PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that assembly errors of devices and variations or the like in weight of various members such as damping members cause the variation in damping effects between the devices. SOLUTION: A damping member 42 for suppressing vibration caused by the movement of a carriage 5 is moved by a damping drive motor 41 different from that of the carriage 5. A damping control part 66 for controlling damping operation has: a first damping control means 67 that calculates the operating speed and timing of the damping member 42 in damping operation so as to move the damping member 42; and a second damping control means 68 that calculates the damping operation start position of the damping member 42 and a moving-speed profile to the damping operation start position so as to move the damping member 42 to the damping operation start position in a period other than the period of executing the damping operation.
