PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element which has small light emission unevenness, high efficiency, and a long life. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element has a light emitting layer 5 provided between an anode 2 and a cathode 7. A mixture layer 9 composed of a hole transport material and a metal oxide material is formed, on a surface of the anode 2 on the side of the light emitting layer 5, by laminating a first hole transport layer 3a, a metal oxide layer 4, and a second hole transport layer 3b in this order on the surface of the anode 2 on the side of the light emitting layer 5.
