A wireless monitoring system includes a first terminal wirelessly transmitting an output associated with a monitored object to a second terminal. The first terminal includes an antenna unit including an antenna array of a number (N) of directional antennas each radiating a relatively high power density in a specific angular direction, where N≧2, and a switch unit having a number (N) of switches each coupled between a corresponding directional antenna and a transceiving unit. When the object is located in the angular direction of one directional antenna, at least one corresponding switch coupled to said one directional antenna is selectively switched to an OFF-mode and the other switches are selectively switched to an ON-mode such that the first terminal transmits the output to the second terminal through the other directional antennas, thereby ensuring relatively low radiation to the object during transmission of the first terminal.
