PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel having a high magnification, and also, achieving a reduction in size and thickness, and achieving a high-speed driving operation upon collapsing the barrel, and to provide an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: In order to rotate a cam cylinder 20 for moving a zoom lens holder in an optical axis direction, a rotating cylinder 60 is attached so that it can rotate in the state where the movement in the optical axis direction is braked. The lens barrel includes: a focus lens holder 90 which is moved in the optical axis direction and disposed at the inside of the rotating cylinder 60; and a focusing operation mechanism which is disposed outside the rotating cylinder 60. The focus lens holder 90 and the focusing operation mechanism are connected together by means of an arm part passing through a notched part 60d partly formed beyond the extension amount of the focus lens holder 90 in the rotating cylinder 60. The focusing operation is performed by moving the arm part. A cam part 60e is partly disposed in the notched part 60d so as to collapse the focus lens holder 90 in association with the rotation of the rotating cylinder 60. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
