PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time spent for processing in power-on of a library device, in a power control method and a storage device. SOLUTION: The power control method includes processes of: controlling the library device to a lock state of preventing input or replacement of a medium inside the library device in response to a lock instruction; creating a map indicating a position of each medium and the media inside the library device; and cutting power of the library device in the lock state in response to a power cutoff instruction.
