<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively increase engine torque while an engine is running at low speeds when an electric turbocharger is installed on the engine in which the portion of an exhaust system from an engine body to the turbine of an exhaust turbosupercharger is composed of a first exhaust passage and a second exhaust passage. <P>SOLUTION: This turbocharged engine comprises a first collecting intake passage 14 communicating with the cylinders #2, #3 corresponding to the first exhaust passage 20a and a second collecting intake passage 15 communicating with the cylinders #1, #4 corresponding to the second exhaust passage 20b. The electric turbocharger 19 is installed in the first collecting intake passage 20a. An ECU 30 operates the electric turbocharger 19 when the engine rotational speed is lower than a predetermined one and the engine load is higher than a predetermined one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
