1437582 Screw sockets A FISCHER 6 Juno 1974 [9 June 1973] 25129/74 Heading F2H A building component 6, e.g. a facing plate, is secured in spaced apart relationship to concrete or masonry 5 by a fastener 1 which has a portion anchored in a bore 5a in the concrete or masonry and a projecting portion 4b which supports the component 6, a longitudinally compressible sleeve 10 completely surrounding the portion of the fastener between the masonry 5 and the component 6 to protect the fastener portion from corrosion. The sleeve 10 is of resilient plastics material, and of concerting form. As shown, the fastener comprises a closecoiled copper wire expansible member 2 through which extends a screw-threaded portion 4a of a bolt 4 on which is threaded an expander nut 3 having a frusto-conical outer surface which in use is drawn into the leading end of the member 2. The rear end of the member 2 bears against a shoulder 4c of the bolt. The plate 6 is secured to the bolt by a screw 7 engaging in a threaded blind bore 8 in the free end of the bolt 4. |
