PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to automatically search information and output the searched result by recognizing the user's face. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(151) indicates information processed at a mobile terminal(100). A control unit(180) receives a specific person's face data from a displayed image, and searches information about the user by recognizing the face. If a schedule function or stand-by screen setting function related with a detected person is operated, a control unit automatically selects information needed for an execution and operates the function.
