PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve, with respect to a camshaft formed with a hollow portion, the accuracy in detecting a rotational position of the camshaft and the durability of the camshaft by preventing generation of excessive stress and inhibiting deformation at a shaft end of the camshaft press-fitted with a detection object for detection of the rotational position. SOLUTION: The camshaft structure of an internal combustion engine includes the camshaft 21i and a pulser 50 having projections 54, 55 for detection of the rotational position of the camshaft 21i. The shaft body 30i of the camshaft 21i is formed with the hollow portion 34i opened in the shaft end face 31p of the shaft end 31i and axially extending. The hollow portion 34i extends to a shaft end 32i of the shaft body 30i and is closed at the shaft end 32i by a closing wall 35 molded integrally with the shaft body 30i to form a shaft internal oil path 70i.
