PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supply shaft device of printing paper, a supply method thereof and a printer for the printing paper, applicable even to a nameplate label of a relatively small size, and capable of easily performing charging operation to a paper supply part 6 of the printing paper 5, by maintaining printing position accuracy of the printing paper 5 on a predetermined level, by stably transferring the printing paper 5 onto a transfer passage. SOLUTION: This supply shaft device has a roll holding member 22 for projecting a roll supply shaft 25, by paying attention to addition of specific frictional force to an outer circumferential surface of the roll supply shaft 25 by a shaft sandwiching member 23, by projecting the roll supply shaft 25 to an outer surface of a roll holding member 22 for holding the roll-shaped printing paper 5, the shaft sandwiching member 23 capable of sandwiching the roll supply shaft 25, and an energizing member 24 capable of applying a load of resisting delivery operation of the printing paper 5 to the roll supply shaft 25 by energizing the shaft sandwiching member 23 in the direction of the roll supply shaft 25.
