<p>The electronic hand grenade fuse includes a generator (19) comprising a quartz piezoelectric crystal with a capacitor (61) connected across its terminals. The capacitor holds sufficient charge to supply an oscillator circuit (62) which provides clock pulse signals. The capacitor is short circuited by a shunt (13) associated with the triggering mechanism. The oscillator output is connected to a logic gate circuit determining the timing of detonation. The grenade includes a detonator (14) operated by a hammer. The detonator is made operable by the removal of a screen between the detonator and a firing relay, the electronic circuit (19, 62-77) controlling the timing of the detonator. Switches associated with the grenade mechanism determine the mode of operation of the electronic circuit.</p> |
