The method involves detecting a potential or an actual hazardous situation in a vehicle (1) by an on-board sensor (2) and generating an automatic alarm signal for warning another road user. The alarm signal is represented in a vehicle thrice. The alarm signal is represented as blinking or flashing of the front or rear lamps (4,5) of the vehicle. The alarm signal is represented as automatic releasing of the signal horn. An independent claim is also included for a regulating- and controlling device for executing the method.
