<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in an initializing operation for a position of a scanner unit using a DC motor as a driving source, since low-speed control is performed while limiting an output current, the required time is extended and if high-speed driving is performed while increasing a limit value, since a torque in abutting on an abutting position becomes too high, abutting cannot be detected. <P>SOLUTION: In order to determine an initial position of a scanner unit in initializing an image reading apparatus, a DC motor is driven to move the scanner unit until abutting on an abutting position inside an apparatus cabinet in a predetermined direction. In that case, a detected moving speed is compared with a predetermined target speed of the scanner unit and based on a result of the comparison, a limit value of a current to be supplied to the DC motor is reset. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
