PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform excellent joining even when there are errors in the thickness of veneers or a superimposed state of scarf surfaces. SOLUTION: Veneers A1, A2 are superimposed in such a manner that, scarf surfaces a2 (a1) of separated scarf shapes having a large number of grooves y1 are meshed with each other via an adhesive (not shown). Using a pair of pressure members 1, 2 provided with pressurizing faces 2a (1a) having lengths L1, L2 nearly equal to the projection length L of the scarf surfaces a2 (a1) with respect to the front and the rear side of the veneers and having widths W2 (W1) larger than the width W of the veneers and a heating function or a cooling function suitable for the characteristics of the adhesive, the superimposed scarf surfaces a2 (a1) are hot-pressed or cold-pressed from the front and the rear side of the veneers. Consequently, in curing the adhesive, the shape of the part oppositely facing the end part of each veneer in the heating faces 2a (1a) of the pressure members 1, 2 is made a shape corresponding to the projection shape of the scarf surfaces a2 (a1) for the front and the rear side of the veneers.
