PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner which can efficiently manufacture toner that excels in reproducibility of tiny dots and cleaning property. SOLUTION: A toner material containing a polymer having a compound having an active hydrogen group and a functional group that can react with the active hydrogen group of the compound, a colorant and a release agent is dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent, a first solution is emulsified or dispersed in an aqueous medium to prepare a second solution whose viscosity is between 50 mPa seconds and 800 mPa seconds, the second solution is flowed in a downward direction along a wall face of a tube whose pressure is reduced (equal to or lower than 70 kPa), the second solution is heated through the wall face of the tube (while maintaining the temperature to the glass-transition temperature of a mother particle or lower) to volatilize the organic solvent, a slurry solid (b) after volatilization is maintained between 15% and 50%, and an enrichment ratio (b)/(a) with respect to the slurry solid (a) before the volatilization is maintained between 1.05 and 2.00.
