PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe fat absorption inhibitor containing an ingredient of plant origin which exhibits an effect of inhibiting absorption of fat. SOLUTION: The fat absorption inhibitor includes at least one compound selected from the group consisting of caffeols, cafestols, dehydrocaffeol, and dehydrocafestol as an active ingredient. Preferably, the compound as the active ingredient is derived from coffee beans, coffee oil or coffee extracts. Intake of the fat absorption inhibitor before or after eating reduces the amount of ingested fat absorbed from the gastrointestinal tracts. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
