<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection optical system that has a sufficiently small size to be provided in a front-projection-type projector and effectively corrects various aberrations, and to provide a projection type display using the projection optical system. <P>SOLUTION: An image on an image display surface 3 is enlarged and projected onto a screen 5, by a first optical system 1 that includes a plurality of lenses, and by a second optical system 2 that includes a reflecting mirror 4 with an aspheric shape of a concave surface. All optical surfaces constituting the first optical system 1 and the second optical system 2 comprise rotationally symmetric surfaces having the optical axis Z common to all optical surfaces as a center, and are composed so that a first lens surface on a reduction side and a second lens surface on an enlargement side in a lens (fourteenth lens L<SB>14</SB>), which is closest to an enlargement side, of the first optical system 1 respectively satisfy predetermined conditional expressions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
