PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lip of a nozzle cap from contacting with a nozzle while preventing enlargement of the nozzle cap and worsening of responsiveness in the purge operation. SOLUTION: The ink ejecting apparatus 10 includes: an ink ejecting head 22; the nozzle cap 70 which has a cap body 80, an inside lip 82, an outside lip 84, and a communication hole 86 which communicates a lip space G2 located between the inside lip 82 and outside lip 84 with a cap space G1 located inside the inside lip 82; a suction part 72 which generates a negative pressure in the cap space G1 by sucking the air in the cap space G1; and a lift part 74. When both of the inside lip 82 and outside lip 84 adhere to a nozzle formation surface 20a or its periphery, both of the lip space G2 and cap space G1 are air-tightly sealed while a plurality of nozzles 20 are surrounded by the inside lip 82.
