PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost of a transfer device in a carrier system. SOLUTION: This carrier system 1 has a station 7 and a carrier 5 capable of transferring an article C between the station 7 and itself. The station 7 has a lifting device 25 including a lifting base 27 liftable in the vertical direction. The carrier 5 has a slide fork mechanism 13 including a slide fork 17 movable in the horizontal direction to the station 7. When transferring the article C to the station 7 from the carrier 5, the following operation is performed. The lifting device 25 is provided by arranging the lifting base 27 in a lower position, and the slide fork mechanism 13 is provided by arranging the slide fork 17 above the lifting base 27 by projecting the slide fork 17 placed with the article C.
