The present describes a shielding system for buildings. Its main feature is the creation of a second shell ( (fig 2a) outside the existing building envelope, leaving a 5-8 cm distance, which bears electromagnetically controlled ventilation doors along the top and the bottom, controlled via commands from an electronic microprocessor unit (PLC) which in turn determines their behaviour based on data acquired by sensors (thermometers). On the southern side of the shielding system, or on parts of it with long sun exposure a solar thermal panel is mounted, which traps solar energy in winter, while provides shading in summer, and is an integral part of the shielding system. The solar thermal panel consists of a single or double glazed panel, behind it air convection and shading sheet metal plate and air vents at the top and bottom that open or close according to programming. It is a system that can be integrated into existing buildings, as well as predicted for buildings to be constructed. |
