The bag has a tubular pouch with a casing (8) having a non woven fleece. An end region of the casing is closed and is formed as a base that is in rectangular form. A retaining plate covers the entire base, where the base has an overlap of inner side and outer side of the casing. The overlapped region is partially bonded using a welded seam (7) that is guided through the entire breadth of the base. A side gusset (10) is attached to another end region in the casing. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a filter bag.
