The invention relates to the use of 1-[4-(5-cyanoindol-3-yl)butyl]-4-(2-carbamoyl-benzofuran- 5-yl)-piperazine or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof in the treatment of a sub-type anxiety disorder selected from panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, agoraphobia, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorder, social phobia, posttraumatic stress disorder, acute stress indication or generalized-anxiety disorder, in the treatment of dementia, in the treatment of a substance-related disorder, in the treatment of a sexual dysfunction, in the treatment of an eating disorder, anorexia or obesity, or the treatment of fibromyalgia.
