The present invention relates to a negative active material for a rechargeable lithium battery, a method of preparing the negative active material for a rechargeable lithium battery, and a rechargeable lithium battery including the negative active material. The negative active material includes a core and a surface layer including a carbon-based material, and nanowires including mesopores. The negative active material of the present invention has excellent cycle-life and high rate characteristics. |
