<p>The motor controller system comprises motor controllers (24, 26), a coolant system for the motor controllers having a common inlet line (32), a common outlet line (34) and parallel branch lines leading to the motor controllers, and a control for selectively increasing a flow of coolant to certain of the motor controllers. The viscosity of the coolant leading to the motor controllers that are to receive increased flow is reduced, while the viscosity of the coolant leading to other motor controllers is increased. An orifice (36) is positioned in the parallel branch lines. The motor controller system comprises motor controllers (24, 26), a coolant system for the motor controllers having a common inlet line (32), a common outlet line (34) and parallel branch lines leading to the motor controllers, and a control for selectively increasing a flow of coolant to certain of the motor controllers. The viscosity of the coolant leading to the motor controllers that are to receive increased flow is reduced, while the viscosity of the coolant leading to other motor controllers is increased. An orifice (36) is positioned in the parallel branch lines leading to each of the motor controllers. A heating element is positioned in the orifice associated with the motor controllers that are to receive increased flow, includes a ceramic negative co-efficient resistor, and is turned on at initial start-up of the system. Other motor controllers are arranged to receive limited flow through another type orifices (136) with a cooling element. The cooling element includes a thermal electric couple. An independent claim is included for a method of providing coolant to a motor controller system.</p> |
