METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SECURE STORAGE USING PRE-PASSWORD

PURPOSE: A secure storage method using a pre-password and a secure storage device are provided to enable a user to obtain secure performance obtained through a relatively long password even though the user uses a relatively short password. CONSTITUTION: A controller(112) transfers a pre-password pre-recorded in a storage medium to a login program if an external security storage device(10) accesses a host computer and an estimated password is inputted through a login program operating in a host computer. The controller receives an estimated combination password generated by combining the pre-password with the estimated password. The controller combines the pre-recorded pre-password with a password to generate a reference combination password. The controller compares the reference combination password with the estimated combination password.
