PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deterioration of objective quality by restoring information of a color signal of a high-frequency component, which an image with low resolution loses, when a plurality of cameras with different resolution are used for new technique which takes into account the multi-viewpoint video images with the different number of colors being treated.

SOLUTION: An image generation method generates image information of a color signal Y of an image A by using a color signal X of the image A, and the color signals X and Y of an image B. The presence or absence of a point in the color signal X of the image B, corresponding to each pixel position of the color signal X of the image A, and the position of the corresponding point are estimated. The image information on the color signal Y at the corresponding position of the image B is set to the color signal Y at the estimated pixel position in the image A. The color signal Y at a pixel position in the image A, for which it is estimated that there is no corresponding point, is generated by using the image information of the color signal Y set to pixels having a corresponding point.
