PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly detect a marker by preventing a pattern appeared when background of a detection image is changed from being wrongly recognized as a marker pattern. SOLUTION: A marker detection device includes: a collation means 10a for collating feature points extracted from the image for marker detection and arranged in a predetermined space, with the feature points extracted from a marker, and determines the location of the feature point or an area including the location as a matching detection area, if there are the feature points that match the feature points extracted from the marker among the plurality of feature points based on the image for marker detection; and a collation monitoring means 20a which detects the matching detection area as a marker non-appearance area where no marker appears, when the number of the feature points arranged in the matching detection area among the plurality of feature points which are extracted from the plurality of images for marker detection and are arranged in the predetermined space is equal to or less than the predetermined number.
