PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gray ink for inkjet with which images having a good fastness can be recorded.

SOLUTION: The gray ink for inkjet includes a colorant. The colorant contains an azo compound expressed by general formula (I) (wherein [A] is an aliphatic amine residue having a carboxylic group or a sulfonic acid group; and M's each independently represent a hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium). The content of the colorant based on the total weight of the ink is ≤0.40 mass% per each of the compounds.
