PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for uniaxially expanding a fluoropolymer product. SOLUTION: The method for uniaxially expanding a fluoropolymer product includes a first step for expanding a green fluoropolymer in a first direction to form an expanded fluoropolymer product, and a step for further expanding the expanded fluoropolymer product, formed in the first step, in the same first direction. As a result, ultra-high expansion and a large variety of porous/fibril structures can be achieved by using the steps for continuously expanding in the same direction. The method takes into account various considerations concerning the selection of an expansion rate in each expansion step, the total expansion amount, and preheating and cutting or the like of the product between the expansion steps so as to allow the use of different fluoropolymers.
