PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated wrapping paper having excellent coloring performance of flexographic ink in flexographic printing and excellent varnishing performance applied ordinarily as a wrapping paper, processability in lamination process and bag-making suitability. SOLUTION: The coated wrapping paper has a coating layer containing a pigment and an adhesive on at least one surface of a base paper, wherein the base paper is produced by using at least one of pulp selected from bleached kraft pulp, unbleached kraft pulp and semi-bleached kraft pulp, the coating layer contains fired kaolin as a pigment, and the coating layer contains 8-30 pts.mass of a water-dispersible resin as an adhesive based on 100 pts.mass of the pigment.
